Frolicking on the Frow of Bernard Chandran

Frolicking on the Frow of Bernard Chandran

Pandemonia on the Frow too

Yesterday was surreal, something I had always dreamed of came true. I went adventuring off to London Fashion Week yesterday and I had so many incredible and unique experiences that what was going to be a a 2 part post has become a four part post.

A couple of weeks ago I was lucky enough to get some backstage invites from Toni & Guy for Hema Kaul and Ashley Isham. I was a little eager when arriving at Freemasons hall and I arrived right at the start of the call time, which meant everything was still being set up, so we had some time to kill. Rose (a very lovely and AMAZING pr girl for Toni & guy) was guiding us about, asked if we wanted to watch Bernard Chandran with her while we wait, the obvious answer was yes!!! Turns out these seats were on the Frow, which meant I had an amazing view of the AW14/15 collection. Toni & Guy did not style this hair but I will be writing about them in the next part of these posts.

The show started with some clanging of symbols and drum beats, the lights when dark and it began.

I have to say I am impressed with this collection. In my mind it captures the evolution of the working woman, embracing and celebrating that the emancipation of ladies, the colourful tailored leather suits and dresses inspired by tuxedos with hints of bright blue, pink and green showed the femininity of women and the leather and more muted shades of brown, grey and black reflect the fact women are just as capable as men and can be as harsh as them too. It's a feminist way to look at it I know!
I am in love with these shoes, they look sleek and elegant and more importantly they look comfy, the fine detail that has gone into each dress and design is definitely shown and you can really see the care, love and attention that has made this collection happen.
Each model had contoured cheeks, hair in a half up half down style, nude lips and nude nails. It was elegant and minimalist it didn't take anything away from the clothes only complimented them.

By the look on everyone's faces the show looked like a success! I have to say I was blown away with this "sexy mod attitude with menswear inspired tailoring" collection.
A leather cape! I think I need this in my life!

Be Delicious City Blossom Fragrance

Be Delicious City Blossom Fragrance

DKNY was created and launched by Donna Karan in 1989. It was in 2004 that DKNY Be Delicious launches, it was the first to extract an apple's juice for it's scent alone, it created this magical and gorgeous perfume. In January 2013 DKNY Be Delicious obtained more than 1,000,000 fans on Facebook and is now one of the largest fragrance communities in the world.

But it is February 1st  2014 that I will be focusing on and the launch of their new the limited edition scents 'City Blossom.' I was actually very lucky as I managed to get my hands on a 50ml bottle just before the launch, but have not been able to blog about it till now as I have been putting it through it's paces.

There are three new scents in this limited edition range; Rooftop Peony, Urban Violet and Empire Apple. The range is inspired by the growing popularity of rooftop gardens. For me as a New York lover I was instantly excited, there is noting more than I want to hang out and chill on a rooftop garden in New York and see those big towering skyscrapers surrounding me. So to find a perfume that captures the smell and essence of that experience is magical and a very unique concept.

The Fragrance I will be focusing on is Urban Violet. It comes in the classic round apple bottle, which feels so nice to clasp in the hand. The perfume is a rich but light purple liquid which is definitely pleasing to the eye.
Urban Violet has top notes of Mandarin, Blackberry, Raspberry and Red Delicious Apple Blossom. Accents of Rose, Freesia and Violet and finally base notes of Sandalwood, Orris and Musk.

I love how the fruity and floral tones put together create this light, sophisticated fragrance.
I have been wearing this fragrance since the day I received it. I love the Violet smell to it is subtle not too overpowering at all, it mixes beautifully with the DKNY apple scent that is also in it. I was really impressed with it, I often find that some violet smelling perfumes can be overpowering or worse smell like an old lady! It's safe to say this definitely does not smell like an old lady! Quite the opposite, the smell is fresh and trendy, it's girly and sweet but at the same time sophisticated and professional, it's one of those fragrances that you can wear to any occasion, and just smell fabulous!

A 50ml bottle of the City Blossom EDT can be purchased for £37 which I think is an amazing price for such a versatile fragrance and in such a good sized bottle too!  The perfume is out now, but remember it's limited edition, so make sure you can get your hands on it while it's stile available!
